There are always some basic rules and regulations to apply for a license. In Ireland, only a person above the age can apply for a license whereas in Australia anyone above the age of 16 can. The left side driving is also common in both countries.
Here is how you can ace your driver’s test and everything you need to know about the knowledge test in Australia and the Theory test in Ireland.
Driver Knowledge Test Australia
The Australian authorities have set a specific set of questions in different states as the initial step to getting a driver's license. A driver Knowledge test is a first and basic step in getting a license in Australia. You can always book the test online from the official site or let your driving institute handle it.
A driver knowledge test is taken to know the theoretical expertise of anyone willing to get a license in Australia. The test contains very simple materials and questions. The common types of questions are general knowledge, alcohol and drugs, bicycle safety, traffic lights, and many more.
Anyone with an average IQ can pass the knowledge test in Australia. The knowledge test however is only the initial step to a driver's license. There will be a total of 45 questions in which you must score at least 80% or above to pass.
Once you clear the knowledge, you will be given a learner’s permit which you should abide by for almost six months before getting your hands on the driver's license.
Theory Test Ireland
Honestly, the process of getting a license in Ireland and Australia is the same, not exact but the same at almost all levels. Just like the driver’s knowledge test in Australia, the authorities in Ireland take a theory test.
The Theory test Ireland is the first and foremost step in getting a valid license in Ireland. The test is mainly about traffic rules but is not limited to them. A total of 40 questions are asked and you should score at least 35 to pass the test. It seems like a big ask but it will be easy.
You can reserve your test online and you will be all set to take your first step toward a valid license. Only after passing the Theory test, will you be provided with a learner's license. You should train at least 12 times with a trainer in order to be a valid license holder in Ireland. After completing six months of the learner's license period, you will be eligible for the driving test through which you can get a full license.
So, the questions in the knowledge test and Theory test ming are not the same but will be nearly the same. The only difference is that the Knowledge test is taken per the state policies, whereas the theory test is the same for the whole country in Ireland. We can say these tests signify the same thing in the end.
